A Barber Shop Offers Much More than Just a Haircut

A barber shop in Beverly Hills is often one of the main social hubs in any community. It provides a refuge from the pressures of work and home life for men. They can leave their worries at the door and enjoy an hour or so of conversation and a decent haircut. However, the modern shop offers many more services than many people realize.

A trip for a haircut is considered by many men to be a social event. Much like a trip to the local bar, pub or coffee shop, it offers people the chance to mix with friends and discuss the news of the day. This social aspect is actually a reason in itself for visiting. With that in mind, the services offered in these shops go way further than a mere haircut.

Many visit for a wet shave. For most, this is the closest shave they’ll ever experience and is done with the utmost care and professionalism. Usually using a knife razor, the experience puts people in mind of the American Wild West and also provides an opportunity to visit a barber shop between haircuts.

One of the big attractions of a traditional shop is the fact that no appointment is needed. Unlike women’s hairdressing shops, men can simply walk in when it’s convenient and sit down for a cut there and then. There will be occasions when all of the barbers are engaged. However, the very best shops often go to extraordinary lengths to make a wait as enjoyable as possible.

Many establishments are now kitted out with large, widescreen TVs, showing big sports games or news. There are also often a wide selection of reading materials to choose from, including newspapers, magazines and books. During the busy periods, those who are waiting sometimes join in with the discussions filling the shop. Many believe the waiting is part of the whole experience.

There are often also an array of different refreshments available to make a visit that much more enjoyable. Many barbers have drinks and food dispensers for those who are using their lunch hours to get a haircut. Many will also offer their customers a selection of hot and cold drinks while having their hair cut.

These establishments have now usually branched out into other areas of men’s grooming. Some of advanced hair coloring services. Men want to look good and are becoming just as keen as women to make the most of their looks. Some shops also offer the chance to have beard and mustache trims as well as waxing of hair from more unconventional areas of the body.

A barber shop in Beverly Hills is always innovating and thinking of new ways to attract new customers. Many have started to offer tanning booths to customers, whereby people stand up in a booth and enjoy three or four minutes of tanning under UV lights. This is ideal for men in a hurry. There is also the opportunity to enjoy a range of different grooming options for one fixed price. These are usually given in one visit, with refreshments made freely available to make the experience a very enjoyable one.

My Shopping Genie Review

Recently the second version of My Shopping Genie resurfaced and that is what prompted us to write this My Shopping Genie Review. The review will consist of two part, the actual shopping tool itself and the business opportunity.

Lets start with the tool itself. The Shopping Genie initially launched about two years ago primarily as an ebay companion. The new offering called My Shopping Genie 4.0 is actually a lot more than that. I am typically pretty skeptical about products attached to network marketing companies but this was actually pretty cool. First off, its not a toolbar which is nice, its just basically an application that shows up when you are searching for things in your favorite search engine. It will automatically scour the internet and all the major shopping sites and a lot of smaller ones to find you the best deal. You simply scroll through the results and choose the one you want, pretty simple. As soon as you leave the search engine results pages, its gone.

So needless to say I was impressed with what they have done to revamp the tool itself, but what about the business side of things. Well, what initially started out as what I would call a subpar network marketing company has actually taken shape and grown as well. They have some powerful new elements to the program and from what I hear leadership as well, which goes a long way.

The new pay plan is a binary with all the fun stuff like bonus sharing pools and fast start bonuses, but all that pales in comparison to the coolest thing I have seen in a network marketing company is a long time. It’s a direct 50/50% revenue share on the click revenue generated from the genies themselves.

Let me explain, the genie itself generates click revenue when people are shopping and a fair amount of it at that. So what the company has done is code each genie that you give away for free and will split the money with you. That’s pretty cool, because it’s a free giveaway for you and it generates revenue, so kind of a no brainer.

All in all, I think My Shopping Genie has done a really good job revamping their overall product offering, commission structure and corporate image, I would feel confident referring people to this opportunity.

As with any network marketing company if you do decide to join, make sure you do so with a leader who has a good track record of creating success and duplication, so do your research! Enjoy and good luck out there

What Do People Dislike About Online Shopping

What Do People Dislike About Online Shopping?

In an industry where double-digit growth has previously been the norm, it would seem
hard to imagine finding much dissatisfaction amongst its consumers. Online shopping,
one would gather, offers benefits that would attract anyone who has a computer with
access to an internet connection. Although not everyone has that access (in the
United States over 50% of the US population is now connected to the Internet), those
that do are not 100% convinced that online shopping is the way to go.

In finding out about the why, what and how of online shopping, you may be surprised by
why people shop online, what they dislike about shopping online, and how online shopping
might change to continue growing in the future as it has in the past.

Online buyers are shifting a greater share of their purchases from the traditional brick and
mortar stores to the web in search of more convenience, cost savings, and broader product
selection. These three “whys” of online shopping were found to be consistent throughout
the research for this article. According to an October 2008 report by Forrester Research,
in a survey of 1000 adult online buyers, 48% expect to find the best values online (that’s
up from 41% in 2007). In a report from the Pew Internet and American Life Project entitled
“Online Shopping:Convenient but Risky”, the whys were similar. Of the people surveyed
for the report, 78% stated convenience while another 68% cited saving time as the reasons
for shopping online.

Further evidence of the reasons why people shop online was reported in June 2008 by
ERetail in their “Top 100 Online Retail Index” . The major factors for shopping online were
financial(26%), gas prices(16%) and the economic outlook(14%). Additionally, 34% of those
surveyed said they planned on spending more money shopping online. If financial and the
economic outlook are about savings, then gas prices (not driving to the store?) is about
savings and convenience. And of those planning to spend 34% more, they probably have
found out about the broad product selection.

If the “whys” of people shopping online seemed consistent, then so will the “whats” of things
that people dislike. It’s not surprising that in an industry with such dramatic growth (more on
that later), technology glitches and process management have combined to create some
dissatisfaction. That those same areas of dissatisfaction are consistent tells us that those
areas can be improved if not totally eliminated.

In a Nielsen Consumer Report/Global Survey conducted in February 2008, the top security
concerns regarding online shopping were reported. The first concern was not receiving the
item(s) purchased or receiving different item(s) than what was purchased. The second
security concern was that personal information would be sold to a third party. Lastly, the third
concern was financial information being stolen. Referring back to the Pew Project, it was
reported that 75% of those surveyed were concerned about both financial and personal
information being secure. The other area of concern was regarding the amount or the way
which online shopping information was presented, with 58% stating they found that information
to be overwhelming. The Privacy Rights Clearing House, a report titled “Online Shopping Tips:
Ecommerce and You” cited the number one concern of online shoppers as a combination of
Pew research piece. Those online shoppers in the Privacy Rights piece declared that not only
should the payment and product process be secure, but that both the financial and purchase
information be simplified, not in any way overwhelming.

If Ecommerce growth will be fueled to some degree by increased spending of current online
buyers, then attracting new online shoppers seems to be a key factor in the equation of
continued growth. However, although online shoppers agree to the benefits (convenience,
savings, selection), most also agree on the detractions (financial and personal information
security, the purchase process). Let’s take a look at some of the numbers to see how change
could affect growth.

If we look back at the Forrester Research report of October 2008, we find some of those
interesting numbers. Forty-seven percent of online shoppers plan to spend the same amount
in the next twelve months. Further stated, 27% plan to spend more and 26% plan to spend
less money. By my math, that adds up to basically flat growth. The US Department of
Commerce projects the 2008 growth for online shopping to be about 7% (the DOC tracked the
industry’s growth rate at 20% plus since 1999). Additionally, eMarketer reports the 2008 holiday
season (November & December) grew at about 10%. Combining the DOC and eMarketer
findings, we do see some growth but not at near the double-digit rates of years past.

So what’s an industry to do? Referring again to Pew finds an interesting analysis. Pew
measured the combined effect of making non-online shoppers comfortable with some of the
hesitancy of shopping online. The data gathered reflected financial/personal information, the
purchase process, along with the previous “whys” regarding savings, convenience and
selection. Improving the confidence of non-online shoppers in these areas could have an overall
impact of as much as 12% growth. If you consider that some of the drop-off in growth may be
due in part to economic concerns around the world, then sustained ecommerce growth seems
very much a potential outcome.

In closing, because online shopping is such a dynamic industry, the technical and processing
aspects will only continue to improve. As those two areas seem to be at the root of any
dissatisfaction with online shopping, those improvements are probably in place and taking
affect. Making online shopping a better experience benefits all of us –
those who provide it and those who use it.

Useful Security Tips For Safe Online Shopping

If you are hesitant to do online shopping or payments, this article will give you the best security tips so that you may go ahead and shop online without worry about safety and security of using personal information online. I have a few tips for those who do want to enjoy the benefits of shopping from home and those who want to get a break from running around to pay bills. This is also for all my friends who want to, but are afraid to transact online for fear of sharing financial information.

Shop with a credit card, not a debit card – Credit cards always have better protection and support from the card companies, so just in case something goes wrong, the have the authority to stop/cancel the transaction within some time period. On debit cards however, the money goes as you pay. So, even if you have protection, the money is already gone.

Use one card for all your online shopping – It is easier to keep track of transactions on one card and you will be able to check your statement easily.

Use one computer (preferably password locked) for online shopping – When you shop online frequently, use same computer and have a login password enabled on it. It is not just for security from unwary users, but also a protection from some viruses (namely trojans).

Use newly opened browser for all online shopping or payments – Always close all windows of the browser and open afresh for online shopping. Also do not open multiple tabs for shopping and surfing. For surfing, use another different browser. For example if you use Google chrome for shopping, then for surfing at same time, use Internet explorer or Firefox or Opera.

Always close browser window after completing purchase – Even if you have to surf net afterwards, close the browser windows once and then open again. This is very important as you may have noticed that even banks ask you to close window after you log out (it is important to close not just tab but all the browser windows). The explanation for the and previous point lies in the fact that browsers store information on your computers in “cookies”. Reliable sites delete important security information on closing of browser though unimportant personal info may be retained.

Never click on links in emails – Even if the mail is from someone you know, do not click on links in emails. It can be a potential source of viruses and hence security compromise on your PC. Who can be sure if your known contact’s computer isn’t security compromised.

Check the site name and URL in the browser address bar – When proceeding to pay for a purchase, always keep an eye on the site name and URL in the address bar of the browser(that is where you type the site URL for going to the site). It will either be starting with same site name of will be the third party site like PayPal, CCAvenue, etc. Check the third party site (if you are not sure) to be a payment gateway before you make payment.

Look for SSL sign/padlock in browser address bar – Before making payment, check for https:// in the address bar URL and for the SSL sign. SSL means data is sent encrypted over the net and only target site can decode it. (When a SSL Digital Certificate is installed on a web site, users can see a padlock icon at the bottom area of the navigator)

Use a latest and updated browser – You may use any operating system like Windows, Linux (Ubuntu, Fedora etc) or mac but use the newer browsers for online shopping. A new and updated browser will have less security loopholes and better viewer experience too. Avoid using older browsers like IE6/IE7.

General Precautions as for any shopping – Last advice, but not the least, as for all shopping, do get a gist of the fine print on the site like shipping details and time, warranty info, replacement policy, money back guarantee terms etc. For this I would suggest you shop online only on reputed sites which are well established and used. These sites invest in infrastructure and security and hence are more suitable for a good shopping experience online.

Use price comparison sites for faster and foolproof shopping – This is not exactly a safety tip, but is a smart shopping guideline. Price comparison sites usually present prices from various reputed online shopping stores in one place and you may try them for getting a good deal.

Our website, www.price-hunt.com is one such price comparison engine and it provides an instant search into major stores to give you the best price for your shopping item. I am sure you will get the best of all prices there. Since you have made it to this part of the article, I am sure you will give online shopping or online payments a definite try, and be a part of the future of retail shopping.
